Landslide union victory in Texas

In September, nurses at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, Texas voted overwhelmingly, with 72 percent in favor, to join National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United. Nurses said they formed a union to win improved patient care standards and strong contracts, and they have seen NNOC/NNU’s proven track record of doing just that in Texas and throughout the country.

El Paso nurses rally as they begin new union contract negotiations with HCA

Nurses in El Paso, Texas, will hold a rally Thursday, April 25, at Las Palmas Medical Center as they begin negotiations on a new union contract with HCA, the facility’s owner. Nurses from both Las Palmas and Del Sol medical centers will attend and speak at the rally, and they say their key priorities for their new contract are intended to improve patient care and working conditions at their facility.
